Responsibilities

• Support Data Services team (Big Data Developers) with Data initiative projects
• Work with teams across the business to understand how the Hadoop Platform can enhance what is currently in place;
• Focus on process automation and documentation of processes and troubleshooting guides;
• Manage Hadoop clusters in development and production environments;
• Install, configure and maintain multiple Hadoop clusters;
• Install new software releases, system upgrades, patches, and evaluation of stability for Hadoop Instances;
• Work with external service providers/vendor support for troubleshooting;
• Tuning of servers, applications and Hadoop Infrastructure;
• Administrating system backups and recovery;
• Applying HA & DR best practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps or Database Administration role;
• Practical experience with Linux platforms (CentOS, Debian)
• Practical experience with Docker (Swarm)
• Practical experience with CI/CD services (GitLab)
• Practical experience with orchestration software (SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, Chief)
• Practical experience with VM (KVM, VMware, Proxmox)
• Practical experience with BigData platforms, preferably Hadoop Distribution (Cloudera);
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning of BigData platforms, preferably in Hadoop;
• Working knowledge of Cloudera proprietary tools such as Cloudera Manager;
• Knowledge of the Hadoop Platform Internals (e.g. HDFS, YARN, Hive DB, Oozie or ZooKeeper);
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent.
