The position requires a blend of technical ability. The responsibilities are split into three main areas, DBA, Linedata Cloud Environment and DR. Pre-emptive monitoring and problem solving are encouraged as much as reactive and proactive troubleshooting.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

DBA – Database Administration:

• Maintain a good knowledge of Oracle databases including versions 11g and 12 c
• Troubleshoot issues that arise with the Oracle database both internally on development and testing platforms and at client sites.
• Performance tune Linedata solutions running on Oracle on internal platforms and at client sites. Mainly, but not exclusively, PL/SQL and SQL tuning.

LCE-Linedata Cloud Environment:

• Daily monitoring checks on various LCE servers
• Troubleshoot issues on the LCE servers, including database servers (Oracle), application servers (windows services) and Citrix servers
• Implementation of new LCE clients
• Upkeep of monitoring tools

DR – Disaster Recovery:

• Troubleshoot issues with any of the Linedata disaster recovery solutions
• Daily monitoring checks on the Linedata disaster recovery solutions
• Installation of Linedata disaster recovery solutions

Required skills

• Fluent English
• Good problem solving ability

• Knowledge of Oracle including PL/SQL and SQL
• Good time management
