Formed in 1999, and based in Edinburgh and Dundee, mtc offers a completely rounded web design and development service. We provide the expertise and know-how to deliver web solutions to clients across a wide range of sectors. From branding, website development, eCommerce, content management systems and intranets, to search engine optimisation and email marketing.

We also have the mtc.mobile team, which works closely with the other mtc teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy native applications for the iOS platform
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
• Work autonomously on projects and new features
• Identify and correct bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Requirements

• Proficient with Swift
• A working understanding of Objective-C (all new projects are written in Swift but we do occasionally need to maintain and understand Objective-C, particularly when integrating 3^rd party libraries / frameworks)
• Experience with offline storage, e.g. Core Data, Realm
• Good coding practices with threaded code
• Familiarity with APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services, particularly using JSON
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Good understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT

Desirable

• Knowledge of web technologies, such as PHP
• Knowledge of Java and Android development (for feature and code base comparison)
• Knowledge of Cordova applications (older mtc projects)
