Currently, we are looking for an experienced person with the ability to write scalable code and expand the quality and speed of our services. As the group level Lead Back-end Engineer you will be responsible for planning the architecture design and developing technology to support business requirements simultaneously across multiple markets. Our technology platform has vast opportunities to expand and reach hundreds of thousands of customers, therefore this position is of noteworthy influence where specific skills, strategies and execution can empower an entire company.

Main responsibilities:

• Work within the team to implement existing and planned requirements and to learn the platform as well as our current development processes;
• Review the integrated services and RESTful APIs currently implemented within the platform;
• Plan the architectural design of new functionalities or integrations within the IT platform. Split the requirements into logical development tasks and delegate the tasks among developers within the existing development team;
• Evaluate your own deliveries as well as the deliveries of other developers. Provide constructive feedback and ensure the final deliveries are up to standards;
• Report directly to business managers who have extensive experience in IT processes as well as participate in expanding the IT team’s technical knowledgebase and personnel.

Main requirements:

• You are a top-level backend engineer who can deliver lean OOP PHP code that performs well at scale;
• At least 5 years’ experience and proven track record working with complex backend systems;
• Strong understanding of design patterns for architecture of large scale backend applications – REST APIs, Algorithms, Caching techniques etc.);
• Solid experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL;
• Experience with Zend Framework 2/3 and Symfony 2/3 PHP will be considered a strong advantage;
• Proficiency with LINUX commands;
• Experience with building user focused interfaces;
• Ambitious and enthusiastic personality with genuine love for software development;
• Good communication skills and ability to take full ownership of own work.
